Modelling and management of uneven-aged pine forests in Catalonia, north-east Spain”: The main objective of the study was to develop models that permit management planning of uneven-aged P. sylvestris, P. nigra and P. halepensis forests in Catalonia. Individual-tree growth and yield models were developed to simulate the development of any type of pine stands and management in the region. In addition, different optimisation techniques were developed and tested, to show the use of modern planning techniques in Mediterranean forests.
